Marimba: A Project Reviving Cultural Identity in Angola, Guinea-Bissau, Mozambique, and Timor-Leste
Marimba is not only the name of a musical instrument but also a project dedicated to revitalizing and celebrating the cultural identity of Angola, Guinea-Bissau, Mozambique, and Timor-Leste.
Through research, digitization, promotion, and distribution of phonographic works by artists from these partner countries, the Marimba project seeks to value musical production, create employment opportunities, and generate income.
This all-encompassing initiative spans from professional training to the delivery of a final product, with particular emphasis on the socio-economic inclusion of women.
To better understand the Marimba project, its areas of action, implementation strategies, and the impact it has achieved so far, RFI interviewed Miguel Ângelo, Administrator of SoundsGood, who oversees the overall coordination of the Marimba project.
