Guinean singer and composer Patche de Rima, ambassador of the Marimba project, Visa For Music, and Guinea-Bissau tourism, will be an international attraction at Afropunk 2023, which will take place in November, in the city of Salvador, Bahia, on the 18th and 19th from November.
Patche de Rima is a versatile artist, working as a singer, songwriter and entrepreneur in the music industry, with an established career in Guinea-Bissau and around the world. He is known for his sikó musical style, which combines traditional elements with influences from reggae, hip hop and other genres.
He is the founder of GuiGuy Records and Agência Guineense de Imagem (AGI), establishing these companies in 2010. His musical career is marked by a commitment to the sustainable development of Guinea-Bissau and the defense of human rights. Furthermore, Patche uses his music as a tool to promote culture and peace, contributing to active citizenship.
Over the years, Patche di Rima has made important contributions as a producer and composer. He produced albums that crossed borders, such as “RENDEZ VOUS DE SIKO” in 2011 and the compilation “GUINE NO CORAÇÃO” in 2006. He played a significant role in several awareness campaigns and received distinctions, such as being an ambassador for the Government of Guinea-Bissau. His musical influence transcends borders, representing African culture around the world and promoting artistic collaboration.
In addition to AFROPUNK Patche di Rima, he will share with renowned Brazilian singer Daniela Mercury, at the TUM festival on the 9th and 11th of November in Florianópolis.
Afropunk is a music and culture festival that takes place annually in several countries around the world. The aim of the festival is to promote black culture and celebrate the diversity of culture and music from Guinea-Bissau and other African countries.
The festival will feature performances by artists from different musical genres, as well as workshops, lectures and other cultural activities.
