He is known for his sikó musical style, which combines traditional elements with influences from reggae, hip hop and other genres.He is the founder of GuiGuy Records and Agência Guineense de Imagem (AGI), establishing these companies in 2010. His musical career is marked by a commitment to the sustainable development of Guinea-Bissau and the defense of human rights. Furthermore, Patche uses his music as a tool to promote culture and peace, contributing to active citizenship.&nbsp;Over the years, Patche di Rima has made important contributions as a producer and composer. He produced albums that crossed borders, such as “RENDEZ VOUS DE SIKO” in 2011 and the compilation “GUINE NO CORAÇÃO” in 2006. He played a significant role in several awareness campaigns and received distinctions, such as being an ambassador for the Government of Guinea-Bissau. In the first edition of the Emerging Bands Competition, promoted by the Marimba project in the store with PROCULTURA, we have selected six artistic projects that promise to mark the musical cenário of PALOP and Timor-Leste. Intended for young people between 16 and 30 years of age, originating from Angola, Moçambique, Guiné-Bissau and Timor-Leste, the competition seeks 40 applications, subject to an analysis of an international jury made up of artists and agents of the sector.The young musicians were educated on the basis of their innovative capacity to merge their cultural roots and transform them into new forms of musical expression, demonstrating a unique and authentic vision of the current artistic panorama.De Angola, destacaram-se Sara Saka and Cleyton M; from Guiné-Bissau Jery Biden Quartet; de Moçambique a Banda M'Laio and os The Hood Brodz; and de Timor-Leste os The Kraken.The selected artists and bands will now have the opportunity to become adults for the Marimba Booking / Soundsgood at the national and international level in 2026. This collaboration represents an important impulse for the promotion of PALOP and Timor-Leste creators, opening doors to new audiences and markets.The current bands will also have the chance to participate in the Marimba Gathering 2024, an event that brings together some of the most influential personalities of the Marimba project. At this event, the results achieved by the actions involved along the program will be presented and celebrated.For recognition and international projection, each of the selected bands will be honored with a local monetary prize. A research programme, a record label and a digital platform are some of the aspects of an unprecedented Portuguese-speaking project, entitled Marimba, to promote music from Angola, Guinea-Bissau, Mozambique and East Timor.Marimba is an initiative of the Portuguese producer Soundsgood that obtained funding from the Procultura Programme, from the European Union and the Camões Institute. In a statement, Soundsgood explains that Marimba is a “socioeconomic intervention project” that will cover “all links in the music sector value chain” – from research to internationalization – in those four Portuguese-speaking countries.
