Originally released in 2020 with Antonio Carlos & Jocafi, the single "Miçanga" was re-released by the band Baiana System this Monday (8). The initiative aims to celebrate the ancestry of Brazilian music and its possibilities.
Two new versions of the track have just arrived on digital platforms. One of them features the singer Patche Di Rima, from Guinea-Bissau, who participated in the BaianaSystem show at the last edition of Afropunk in Salvador, in November. Baiana has already been working with the Guinean on other projects, in a musical experimentation with artists from Portuguese-speaking African countries.
The other remix arrives in collaboration with DJ and music producer Brazook. Born and raised in Capão Redondo, in the extreme south of São Paulo, DJ and music producer Carolina Ribeiro began her activity in 2017, adopted the name Brazook and today performs at many parties of different segments throughout the city. He has collaborated with names like MC Tha and Pabllo Vittar.
