GOVERNOR LOTTI NOLIKA RECEIVES MARIMBA PROJECT TEAM
Governor Lotti Nolika received, this Monday morning [21.08.2023], for courtesy greetings, a team of journalists who are part of the "Marimba" project, which aims to rescue musical rhythms at the level of Portuguese-speaking African Countries and East Timor (PALOP + TL), will work in the province, more specifically in the municipality of Bailundo.
According to the team leader, Fernando de Sousa, the project starting in Angola, the decision was made for the province of Huambo, taking into account the number of kingdoms and their cultural diversity.
During the hearing, Governor Lotti Nolika welcomed the visitors and gave a brief historical, economic and social overview of the province. Visitors did not hide their satisfaction in visiting Huambo, saying they were "impressed by the city's urban balance".
The team will work in the municipality of Bailundo for two days, focusing on the Katiavala Traditional Group and the Bailundo Kingdom.
The Marimba project, which involves professionals from countries such as Portugal, Spain, Guinea Bissau, Mozambique, the Netherlands and Angola, is financed by the European Union (EU), in partnership with the Camões Institute of Portugal.
Present at the hearing was the head of the Department of Cultural Action of the Provincial Office of Culture, Tourism, Youth and Sports, Pascoal Nhanga and the ambassador-advisor of the Kingdom of Bailundo, Castelo Ekuikui.
