Sol da Caparica: second day with performances by Stewart Sukuma, África Negra, Ferro Gaita, Yola Semedo and Tabanka Djaz
sáb, 19th agosto 2023 at 11:00
If on the first day of Sol da Caparica the venue was already well composed, on this second day it seemed to be complete. After the doors opened, there was a flood of people taking their seats in the bars, in specific places for activities and games and in the front lines of all the stages.
The secondary stage, Kavi, was dedicated to African sounds, with the aim of showing the diversity that makes up the festival. The opening was performed by Mozambican icon Stewart Sukuma, who made the audience get to know a little about Mozambique through his music, with an energy typical of someone who dances Marrabenta – a traditional Mozambican music-dance style whose name derives from the Portuguese word “kick ass” – every day. He sang to us “Xitchuketa Marrabenta”, “Felizminha”, “Caranguejo”, among other songs from albums such as Nkhuvu or O Meu Lado B.
