Marimba: unprecedented innovative project launches photography contest for young people up to 30 years old:
- Today a photography contest is launched for young people up to 30 years old, of nationality and residence in Angola, Mozambique, Guinea-Bissau and East Timor, partner countries of the Marimba project;
- Marimba aims to value musical production, through its research, digitalization, promotion, and international distribution;
- Paulo Flores, Nástio Mosquito, Angolan, Manecas Costa, Guinean; Stewart Sukuma, Mozambican and Etson Caminha, East Timorese are the ambassadors of the project.
The international Marimba project is already taking the first steps, resulting from the applications to PROCULTURA, an action of the PALOP-TL, the European Union, and the Camões - Instituto da Cooperação e da Língua, of Portugal.
The Marimba project aims to value musical production in Angola, Mozambique, Guinea-Bissau and East Timor, through its research, digitalization, promotion and international distribution, contributing to the rescue of cultural identity, to its dissemination and to the strengthening, inclusion and sustainability of the sector's agents.
In this context, with the purpose of stimulating new artistic generations, a photography contest is being launched for young people up to 30 years old, of nationality and residence in the project's partner countries, namely Angola, Mozambique, Guinea-Bissau and East Timor.
Four candidates will be selected, one for each country of intervention, whose final goal is the participation in a collective exhibition, with previously selected works, which will take place in Maputo, at the culmination of the project, in 2024.
