This meeting took place during the Womex 2022 conference and international music market in Lisbon.

About the event

It was the first step towards promoting the artists of the future Marimba Booking agency, in order to make the project known and bringing our representatives closer to opinion leaders (journalists, festival directors, curators, etc.) and agents, showing them the real market opportunities at a global level. 

Professional contacts were made in order to develop a distribution strategy for the phonograms to be commercialized via Marimba Sounds on the digital platform itself, identifying the instruments and target markets, as well as agents who will be responsible for the international booking of Marimba artists in different countries and regions, with priority for Portugal, Brazil and the Central European market. 

This informal meeting at B.Leza proved to be fruitful as we had invited representatives from several European venues and important international music fairs. The party at B.Leza was open to the public, eventually gathering around 500 people in the space. The night was marked by performances by Nástio Mosquito, Nayela, Stewart Sukuma, Isabel Novela, Patche Di Rima, Rita Só, Celeste Mariposa, Selecta Sarah and Indira Mateta.

We should highlight the presence of representatives from other Portuguese-speaking countries, such as Cape Verde and Brazil, which are not part of the Marimba project's countries of intervention but who showed a real interest in collaborating in the future in some of our actions, both from an institutional point of view and in a more practical scope, showing interest in promoting products and artists in these territories.
